History

Welsh’s is a truly family business, with history dating back to 1950 when Aub Welsh started the business as a roof tiler in Warrnambool.

His son Brian started working in the business at the same time, while he was just 15 making and installing roof tiles. Brian was also a roof tiler who made roof tiles by hand.

Over the years, all of Brian’s 5 sons have worked in the business at varying stages, with Bill (qualified roof tile) being the longest-serving at 30 years. John and Joe have also been with the company for 22 years. In 2004, John, Joe and Bill started BuildPro and expanded the business more into the South Western Victoria region. To his son and all his staff, Brian has passed on his principles of fairness and people first.

Over the years, Welsh’s has transformed from a roofing company into one that now specialises in garage doors and gates, wall systems, paving, landscaping, tiling, flooring, and of course roofing. As a local, family owned business, Welsh’s employs approximately 20 people plus numerous contractors.
